Errors galore

I was reading about the errors prevalent in statistics and the "error of the third kind" as it is called quite interested me. I was in a situation where I got to see this error play a role in real life and got to understand this error fully. Let me first explain that the initial two kinds of errors are based on drawing incorrect conclusions and the third one is asking the wrong kind of questions thus getting incorrect answers. I was initially leaning towards the type I and II errors during my initial days in the US but now, it seems, I have progressed to Type III errors. Certain incidents that happened today have reiterated the fact that my life can be statistically broken down and it is rife with all kinds of errors. Unfortunately, the solution suggested to avoid this kind of error is to go back to the grassroots level and question oneself where the real problem lies . Sometimes I wonder, am I mirroring everybody else's insecurities, quirks and bad behaviour into mine? Is this question right or am I on the threshold of commiting another Type III? I wish life could be a so easily modelled as numbers to get a best fit.......

Adding to the list of errors is the error of Type IV. Though not necessarily a part of statistics, errors of Type IV stem out of impatience and could lead to errors of Type III in some circumstances. If something drives one to go ahead and ask questions, immaterial of whether they are wrong or right, the minimum the individual asking the questions can do is keep the others involved informed of developments so that they can get on with their work, irrespective of how much ever little the other individuals have to do.

You aren't mirroring everybody's insecurities, quirks etc..certainly not everybody's, maybe that of some. Nice read!!
